WELCOME TO UPWARD

Upward Sports are Christian based programs that focus on evangelism and outreach while teaching solid sports skills all in an attempt to introduce kids to Jesus through sports.

PRACTICES

Players are given one hour of practice time per week which includes a coach-led devotion period.  Practices are on Mon, Tues, or Thurs and when registering you can pick one of the three that does not work for your player.  We will do our best to accomodate that when placing your child on a team.

GAMES

Gamedays with Upward are unique and energetic.  We play for 8 Saturdays a season.  Soccer games begin around Labor Day.  Basketball/Cheer begin the first Saturday of January.  We have many various themes and activities to make the experience special.  

AWARDS

Everything wraps up with an awards ceremony to celebrate every player and have a little fun to end the season.  We would love to have you join us!

OVERVIEW:

 

All ability levels are welcome in Upward.  Game play is designed to make sure that every child from the superstar to the hesitant is able to shine.  Starting in our PreK/K division we play 4v4 on a smaller field with coaches on the field to help the referee control the action.  In 1st/2nd grade the coaches remain on the sideline but the field size remains the same.  Kids get promoted to the big field in 3rd/4th grade and we play with more players and keep score for the first time.  Then our oldest division of 5th/6th graders plays on the big field, keeps score, and has a tournament to finish out the season.

 

Our desire is to grow the game with your child and give them age-appropriate goals and accomplishments from their first season until they are ready to head to Middle School soccer!

We are excited to host our 25th season of Upward Basketball! 

 

Upward is a fantastic opportunity to grow the game of basketball with your player.  From instructional in Kindergarten to more conventional basketball at 5th/6th grade levels, every division adds another step to your player's development.  All in an environment that seeks to introduce Jesus to your child through sports!

Practice times for basketball are at 5:00pm, 6:00pm, 7:00pm or 8:00pm with the younger kids generally beginning at the early times and our 5th/6th grade teams finishing out the night.  Practices take place on Mon, Tue, OR Thur evening.

 

We will form teams based on our evaluation process.  Upward is not a league that allows you to bring in a fully formed team - it is designed for balance among teams as well as getting to know new players each season.

Our 19th season of Cheer is coming!  It is always so much fun to see the cheerleaders perform during games, at breaks, and at halftime.  We would love for your child to participate this winter in Upward Cheer!  

 

Our cheerleaders provide energy and drive the atmosphere that makes Upward unique.  They have a prime spot on the sideline to cheer on the players and lead the crowd.  Then they get to come on the court at breaks between periods as well as a longer halftime routine.  We hope your daughter will join us for Upward Cheer this season!
