STUDENT MINISTRY

We exist to empower students to find and follow Jesus

IMPACT

Impact is our large youth group setting that meets at the PowerHouse and combines fellowship, fun, worship, and Biblical teaching. Whether a student has grown up in the church, or this would be their first church experience, Impact has something for everyone! Our middle school program is on Wednesdays at 6:00pm and includes 6th-8th grades. 9th-12th grades are part of our high school programs on Sunday at 7:00pm.

IN TUNE

At 9:00am each Sunday, we have a class for middle and high school students year-round. During these meetings, students will be given the opportunity to have their own quiet time with God and then discuss what they are reading in breakout groups. In Tune helps empower students to read and understand God's Word.

EVENTS AND TRIPS

Throughout the year, we’ll host several big events designed to help students connect with their peers and leaders. From theme nights to 5th quarter parties, to mission trips and retreats, to CIY Mix and Move, there is something for everyone to get involved in throughout the year. Events are the most beneficial environment for students to walk into our ministry for the very first time.

SMALL GROUPS

Small groups are the most important part of what we do. They happen every week in our programs with different combinations of students, but the relationships built in consistent small groups during the week extend outside the walls of our church. These groups meet in homes or at the church and are made up of 5-10 people. Our youth coaches facilitate students in healthy biblical conversation, study, and prayer as they do life together.

YOUTH COACH

Are you interested in working with pre-teens or teenagers?  Do you love playing dodgeball or going to church camp?  Would you love to pass along wisdom that you have learned from your lifetime to those who could use it? If so, we would love for you to consider joining our Student Ministry Team. We have seen God do amazing things in the lives of students!  And while we get to build relationships with some awesome students, God does some pretty amazing things in our lives as well.

Most of our volunteer positions include facilitating small groups. We also use people who love to cook, know technology, are musical, or who are willing to do odd jobs but would prefer not to teach.

If you are interested in volunteering in the Student Ministry as a Youth Coach, please feel free to email Dakota and Jillian Gayer with any questions at students@southrock.cc.

PARENTS

We know one of the best ways we can empower students to find and follow Jesus is to partner with you to disciple your students. We do our best to provide a safe, friendly, loving environment full of leaders who want your student to know they are known, valued and loved. We want to be a resource to you and your family as you are raising your children.

One of the ways we want to help is by clear and consistent communication. Twice a month, emails are sent to parents that detail what we are studying during our IMPACT times, what events are coming up, and any parenting resources or tips to think about.  To get on this list, just email students@southrock.cc and request to be added to the list.
